Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of FrameHoist at https://framehoist.com, provided by {{LEGAL ENTITY}}. By creating an account, buying a plan or using the service you agree to them.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

1. Agreement and operator

FrameHoist is operated by {{LEGAL ENTITY}}, a {{LEGAL FORM}} with its registered office at {{REGISTERED ADDRESS}} (company number {{COMPANY NUMBER}}, {{COUNTRY}}). In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean {{LEGAL ENTITY}}, and “you” means the person who creates an account or uses the service. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Cookie Policy, form the agreement between you and us. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

FrameHoist is a web application that enhances video inside your browser. You choose a video file on your device, and the page decodes and processes it locally. Depending on the settings you choose, the service can:

  • upscale video to 1080p, 1440p or 4K using Lanczos filtering on your graphics processor;
  • reduce grain and noise with motion-adaptive temporal and spatial filtering;
  • sharpen edges;
  • reduce handheld shake with translation stabilisation, which applies a small automatic crop;
  • clean up colour with auto levels, white balance and saturation adjustments; and
  • deinterlace footage from old tape transfers.

Presets (Phone clip, Old tape, Social upscale and Wedding polish) apply common settings, and you can set the controls yourself. The processed video is recorded in your browser and saved to your device as a download, as MP4 where your browser can record H.264 and as WebM otherwise. There is no server-side video processing. Our servers handle only your account, credits, payments and support messages.

FrameHoist uses classical image-processing algorithms running in WebGL2. It is not a generative model. It cannot recover detail that was never recorded, and it can introduce visible artifacts. See section 9.

3. Browser, device and file limits

  • Each video can be up to 10 minutes long and up to 1500 MB in size.
  • You need a recent desktop browser that supports WebGL2 and MediaRecorder. Mobile browsers and older browsers may not work or may run too slowly.
  • Processing runs at about playback speed on your device, so a ten-minute video takes about ten minutes. The tab must stay open and in use until the file is finished. If you close the tab, the output is lost and you must start again.
  • Speed and output quality depend on your device, your browser, available memory and the quality of your source file. We do not provide or support specific hardware.

4. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
  • You must give accurate details (name and email address) and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password safe and do not share it. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@framehoist.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • One person per account. You may not share an account with other people or sell, rent or transfer it.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept.

5. Credits and access period

  • 1 credit = 1 minute of source video, rounded up. The cost of a job does not depend on the output resolution you choose.
  • Credits are reserved on our server when a job starts. They are returned automatically if the job fails on our side, if you cancel before the file is finished, or if your browser closes in the middle of a job (the daily cleanup returns them within about 12 hours).
  • Each plan grants credits and a fixed access period. Credits are valid only for the access period of the plan that granted them and expire when that period ends.
  • If you buy more than one plan, the credits and the access days add up. Expired leftover credits do not carry over.
  • Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred and cannot be exchanged for money except as set out in the Refund Policy.

6. One-time payments

  • We sell plans named Starter, Pro and Studio as one-time payments in US dollars, each for a fixed access period. See the Pricing page for current prices, credits and access periods. A Custom plan is available on request through the contact page.
  • No automatic renewal. There is no subscription. Nothing is renewed automatically, so there is nothing to cancel. We never charge you again unless you choose to buy another plan. We do not offer a free usage period.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe through a Stripe Payment Link. We never see or store your card number. After paying you return to the site and the plan is linked to your account.
  • Taxes such as VAT or sales tax may apply and are shown at checkout where required.
  • We may change prices and plans for future purchases. A change never affects a plan you have already paid for.

7. Refunds

Our Refund Policy is part of these terms. In short, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have used less than 20% of the credits from that purchase, and in cases of billing errors, service faults and unauthorised charges. Nothing in these terms or the Refund Policy reduces your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Your content and licence

  • You keep all rights. Your source videos and the enhanced files you save remain yours, and we claim no rights in them.
  • We receive no copy. Your video, its audio, frames and thumbnails are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us or to any of our service providers. We do not store the result. We therefore have no licence to your footage and do not need one.
  • What we do store. For each job we keep a record with the file name you gave, the duration, the preset, the output size, the status and timestamps, so that we can manage your credits and show your history. Job records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • No AI training. We never use your content to train AI models. We never receive it.
  • Your promises. You confirm that you have the right to process every video you use with the service, including any rights needed for the people, voices, music and other material in it, and that doing so does not break the law or anyone's rights.
  • Keep your own copies. We do not keep your source or output. Keep your original files safe and check each result before you rely on it.

9. Enhancement results

FrameHoist applies classical image-processing algorithms. It does not generate new detail. Please understand the following before you use or deliver a result:

  • Results depend on the source. A very blurry, heavily compressed or very dark clip will still look limited after processing.
  • Upscaling, noise reduction, sharpening and stabilisation can introduce artifacts such as halos, softness, smearing of fine texture, flicker or edge crops. Stabilisation applies a small automatic crop.
  • We do not guarantee any level of quality, sharpness or visual improvement, and results may differ from your expectations.
  • Check the whole output before you deliver it to a client or publish it.
  • FrameHoist is not suitable for producing evidence or for forensic identification of people, vehicles, text or objects. Enhanced footage must not be presented as a faithful record of what was captured.

10. Videographers, studios and archives

If you use FrameHoist for client work, for example wedding films, event footage, studio productions or archive and family-tape digitisation, you remain responsible to your own clients and audiences for the work you deliver. That includes checking quality, agreeing expectations with your client, holding the rights and permissions needed for the footage, and complying with any contract you have with them. We are not a party to your client relationships and are not liable to your clients.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, or process content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing or that violates someone's privacy;
  • process content you do not have the right to use;
  • process any sexual content involving minors, which is prohibited absolutely, or any other adult or sexually explicit content;
  • use the service to create deepfakes or to manipulate footage of real people in a deceptive way, or to produce material designed to mislead;
  • use the service for fraud, scams, phishing or other deceptive practices, or to impersonate any person or organisation;
  • abuse credits, for example by exploiting errors in credit handling, creating accounts to collect free credits or sharing accounts to avoid paying;
  • abuse our servers or interfaces, including automated or scripted access, attempts to bypass limits, or traffic that disrupts the service;
  • access accounts or data that are not yours, or probe, scan or test the service without our written permission (see the Security page for how to report vulnerabilities);
  • reverse engineer, decompile or extract source code, except to the extent the law allows despite this restriction; or
  • sell, rent or resell accounts, credits or access to the service.

12. Intellectual property

The FrameHoist software, website, design, text, graphics and brand belong to {{LEGAL ENTITY}} and its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service during your access period in line with these terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Your footage belongs to you (section 8). If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the service without obligation to you.

13. Third-party services

The service relies on providers that we do not control. Stripe processes payments, and Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery and the database and server functions for accounts and credits. Their own terms and privacy notices apply to their services. We are not responsible for their acts or outages, but we choose them with care. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors. Your browser, operating system and hardware are also outside our control.

14. Availability and performance

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We do not guarantee processing speed, compatibility with every browser or device, or that a given file will process successfully. If the service does not work as described, see the Refund Policy.

15. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using the service at any time and can delete your account from the Account page.
  • We may suspend or close an account, with notice where reasonable, if you breach these terms, if we must do so by law, if we suspect fraud or abuse, or if a payment is reversed or disputed without first contacting us.
  • If we close your account because of your breach, remaining credits and access end and are not refunded. If we close it for any other reason, or discontinue the service, we will refund the unused part of your most recent plan on a pro-rata basis.
  • If you delete your account, remaining credits and access are deleted with it. Purchase records are kept in anonymised form for accounting.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 8, 9, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19) continue to apply.

16. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not give any warranty that it will meet your requirements, produce a particular result, be uninterrupted or error-free, or be compatible with your device, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or right you have by law that cannot be excluded, including your rights as a consumer.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, clients or data (including loss of an unfinished or unsaved output);
  • we are not liable for loss caused by the quality of an enhanced result, by artifacts, or by your delivery of enhanced footage to a third party; and
  • our total liability to you for all claims arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period.

If you are a consumer, you keep all mandatory rights and remedies under the law of the place where you live.

18. Indemnity

If you are using the service for business purposes, you agree to defend and compensate us against claims, losses and reasonable costs brought by a third party that arise from content you process in breach of these terms, from your breach of section 11, or from your delivery of work to your clients. This section does not apply to consumers to the extent the law does not allow it.

19. Governing law and courts

These terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the service are governed by {{GOVERNING LAW}}, and the courts competent under that law have jurisdiction, subject to the next sentence. If you are a consumer, you also keep the right to rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live and, where the law gives you that right, to bring a claim in the courts of that country. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at support@framehoist.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For material changes we will also give notice by posting it on the site or by email to your account address where appropriate. A change applies from the date stated and does not affect plans you have already paid for in a way that makes them worse for you. If you continue to use the service after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and, if you wish, delete your account.
